IBC 2025: A Milestone for Nakolos and 5G Broadcast

This year’s IBC 2025 was a great success for Nakolos. We were delighted to welcome many visitors to our partner booths and saw strong interest in our 5G Broadcast solutions. The event provided not only a platform to share our latest developments, but also to exchange ideas with industry leaders and partners.

Highlights from our IBC 2025 Participation

At this year’s show, we demonstrated several key developments:

  • World’s first: Embeeding a 5G BC Emergency Warning signal into a DVB-T2 carrier: Together with our partners TRedess and bitstem, we demonstrated the possibility of scalable 5G Broadcast roll-outs, including cost-efficient use of DVB-T2 infrastructure, as well as future-proofing extensions and the world´s first showcase of CAS (Cell Acquisition Subframe)-muting.
  • Enhanced public warning systems, combining traditional broadcast with continuous video and alert delivery.
  • Satellite integration, connecting our 5G Broadcast core to satellite feeds and transmitters to ensure reach and resilience, presented by Syes.
  • Live 5G BC signal across Amsterdam, provided by Broadcast Partners, including NPO video and radio channels, real-time testing of emergency alert notifications, and public drills.

Strong Interest and Valuable Conversations

We were encouraged by the level of interest in our and demos. People came not just to see the technology, but to explore how it could be applied in real operational settings — from broadcasters and network operators to policy makers and emergency services. Many discussions centered on how to merge traditional broadcast infrastructure with new 5G Broadcast-based services, and how to make deployment both practical and cost efficient.

In addition to our exhibition, key speaking engagements—such as “5G Broadcast Ready for Launch?” and the panel “DVB & 5G Broadcast: a dynamic duo”—offered opportunities to share insights and hear feedback from the broader community.

Looking Forward

We are grateful for everyone who stopped by, tested our systems, asked thoughtful questions, and shared ideas. These interactions are essential as we iterate, refine, and scale our solutions.

Nakolos remains committed to making 5G Broadcast more accessible, resilient, and effective. If you weren’t able to join us in Amsterdam but are curious about our technology or possible collaboration, please reach out to office@nakolos.com.
